Global Day of Prayer / City Wide Prayer Rally

  • Recruited and trained over 100 non-dancers to perform in a professionally choreographed dance and flagging piece. Featured in the first two Global Day of Prayer rallies at the Saddledome in Calgary. Also performed at two Stampede Parades. Arranged numerous rehearsal spaces for daily rehearsals. Coordinated all of the costumes and flags required for the team. Held daily rehearsals; had only +/- 4.5 months to train the entire group. Met routinely with the 'Global' Board to ensure that we were meeting the objectives of the entire Rally. Participated in the creation and execution of print and media material, press releases, TV and radio interviews, and more. Also performed along with the group.
  • Formed a smaller group to dance and flag at numerous 'CityWide Prayer Rallies' in Calgary. Also led the Dance and Visual Arts portion of a conference in Bangor, Ireland, led overall by Leanna Klassen, a Christian artist and songwriter from Calgary, AB. Was responsible for every aspect of the dance and flagging in these rallies, including choreography and the performance of solo work. Of note, several of our team went on to form and lead dance and flagging groups in their home churches!

  • After extensive dance training (that commenced at age 4) with the Royal Winnipeg Ballet Professional Division, General School, Scholarship Division, Banff School of Fine Arts, and other schools, was promoted to full Company member of the Royal Winnipeg Ballet Company during the 1979-1980 season.
  • Performed in numerous musicals, operas, TV and live specials, variety TV shows, commercials, movies, and the like.
  • Responsible for coordinating, organizing, marketing and especially teaching worship, prophetic, and spontaneous dance that was used for services and special occasions/performances for 6.5 years in various churches in Winnipeg, Calgary, and Edmonton.

  • I began studying and honing my craft(s) in 1964; however, this resume template only goes back as far as 1975.
  • I studied classical piano and completed all levels of Royal Conservatory theory with honors.
  • Studied the usual forms of dance, from tap to modern, to jazz, to folk, to mime, to pas de deux, to classical variations, to repertoire, etc.
  • I studied and played the bassoon, violin, piano, and the entire recorder family. I had a voracious appetite for the classics. I played in two orchestras and a jazz band. Even though, initially, I thought that I might become a professional classical musician.
  • Sang lead and harmony in a Christian praise and worship band for three years, everything from hymns to rock. I studied classical voice training through the Royal Conservatory of Music. Also sang in the Winnipeg Choir as a guest.
