Head of Infrastructure Projects Construction Phase for Dominican Republic’s
biggest retailer:

• Oversee the execution of all infrastructure projects, specifically focusing on retail store construction and remodeling.
• Ensure projects are completed on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with quality standards.
• Provide strong leadership and guidance to the Project Supervision Team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• Coordinate and collaborate with cross-functional teams including architects, engineers, contractors, and subcontractors to ensure seamless project execution.
• Develop and implement project plans, timelines, and budgets to effectively manage resources and optimize project delivery.
• Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, resolve issues, and proactively identify and mitigate potential risks.

• Preparation of construction budget by studying plans; updating specifications; identifying and projecting costs for each activity.
• Preparation and management of tendering process. Development and revision of RFP/ RFQ documentation.
• Evaluation offers to purchase by costing changes, additions, and site requirements.
• Obtaining bids from vendors and subcontractors by specifying materials; identifying qualified subcontractors; negotiating price.
• Resolving cost discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information
• Cost forecasting and monitoring, risk assessment.
• Preparation special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends of local construction market.
• Supervision of execution of approved projects, ensuring project guidelines and cost considerations are met by Field Engineers
• Study and application of local and international construction regulations.
• Contract management, claims management/dispute settlement.

• Successful management of Infrastructure Project bidding processes, contract and claims management for local and international companies.

Procurement Engineer:

• Choosing and managing suppliers for the acquisition of construction materials
• Evaluating of offers, making sure the quoted materials meet the specification and quality standards required
• Negotiating prices
• Customs clearance work: preparation and submission of documentations required to facilitate imported materials, representing client during customs examination, assessment, payment of duty and co taking delivery of cargo from customs

Documentation Engineer:

• Review and verify project documents for completeness, format, and compliance with contract requirements
• Submit project documentation to management for approval, and transmit approved documents to customer
• Preparation of daily, weekly and monthly project reports
• Ensure construction is executed with up to date blueprints and specifications
• Coordination of communication between with client, contractors, project supervisors and government institutions
• In charge of all interactions with client's local and international upper management (in English)
• Redacting company's official letters/communications (English and Spanish)

Project Engineer / Project Manager in charge of numerous Infrastructure projects, including, but not limited to: residential buildings, gas stations, water channels, reservoirs, etc.
